Yesterday we noticed that the water coming out of our kitchen faucet was only lukewarm, not blazing hot as it usually is. Not a good thing, especially when we have guests. Our dishwashers heat the water to an extremely hot temperature as they run, so at least that wasn’t a problem. Harry and Nate checked out our water heaters and found no apparent problem, but still….the water wasn’t hot. Since that had never happened before, we were concerned. Then inexplicably, the water got warmer and warmer, then back to normal temperature.
Turns out one of our guests had taken a very, very, long shower and drained out all the hot water. We hadn’t considered that a possibility because we’ve hosted several more peopleĀ than we currently have and have never run out of hot water.
All to say, I’m very thankful that our hot water heaters are in fine operating order and we’re spared the expense of repair or replacement!
Join us at Rebecca’s to give thanks to God for his goodness to us!

My daughter can drain a water heater all by herself :0)
I’m glad you didn’t have a serious problem.

Whew! Glad it was something simple–and cheap (at least until you get your water bill!)

This happened to us on Saturday. My parents were visiting so I thought maybe the drain on the hot water was because of 2 extra showers. Then I discovered that there had actually been 4 extra showers as my two oldest boys had decided to partake as well. And we have 2 hot water heaters. Thankful with you for simple solutions.
