On a snowy, blustery day my favorite things to do are making soup, baking cookies, reading and working puzzles. The first three things I do alone, but whenever I spread a puzzle out on a table, son Aaron is eager to come help put it together. Despite his disability, a puzzle intrigues him and he works hard to find pieces, not only for the section he’s working on, but also for mine. I make mugs of spiced cider or hot chocolate and we keep at it until eventually we get it finished. It might take a day or two or three, but we (usually) finish them. Today I’m thankful for puzzles because of the enjoyment and togetherness they provide for Aaron and me, and for the elation Aaron feels when he puts the last piece in!
More thanks to God piling up at Rebecca Writes. See you there!

We used to have a Christmas puzzle every year but for some reason, we haven’t done it for years now. I think it may have started with our cat, George, who loved to knock the pieces off the table and on to the floor. George has been gone for several years now; maybe it’s time for another Christmas puzzle!

I love the feeling of camaraderie that comes with doing a jigsaw puzzle together! You’ve described that so well, Rosemary.

We are a puzzle family as well. And a puzzling family too, but that’s not the point here. My husband’s family laughs at my tendency to sing, “Ta da” every time I put a piece in. Thing is, they’re doing it too, now. Hmm, puzzling.
